First country where MICROWD landed back in 2013. It began working through various partnerships, but seeing the success of operations and the high demand from women, it was decided to establish its own microfinance institution: “Microwd Nicaragua”.
Since then we have extended our coverage to more than 30 areas of the country through two main offices. Microwd Nicaragua stands out for its attention to areas of low penetration for other financial institutions, offering a highly competitive service in rural and semi-urban areas of the country.

In 2018, MICROWD allied with a local entity, AEDES, with the objective of providing access to financing to the NGO's beneficiaries in high Andean and peri-urban areas. After a short pilot program, during which the enormous potential for growth in the country was confirmed, it was decided to set up a savings and credit cooperative. Over the years, the cooperative has expanded throughout the country, opening 6 offices in extremely diverse areas of the country.

We decided to start operations in Mexico: an incredible opportunity was detected, since the country has a huge market to be served, and a microfinance market with great opportunities for improvement. We began working with several partners in 2020, and after a complex stage marked by uncertainty and instability with the arrival of COVID19, operations began to stabilize in 2022. Since then, we have been able to consolidate a strong team in 3 different areas of the country.
